The Wolf's Journey: Spirit, Strength & a Message from the Heart
Two Wolves Travel North – and a Personal Tribute to Bravery Through Grief
There’s a reason the Wolf has long been a symbol of strength, instinct, and deep emotional intelligence. It guides us when we feel lost, stands beside us when we’re afraid, and reminds us that we are never truly alone.
For me, The Wolf painting carries more than symbolism – it carries a personal story of heartbreak, healing, and quiet bravery.
I painted this piece shortly after the devastating, sudden loss of our beloved furbaby Arthur, our Maine Coon. His presence had been a grounding force in our home and lives, and his passing left a silence I didn’t know how to fill. In that raw space, I turned to the canvas.
The Wolf emerged as both a subject and a guide – helping me navigate grief with courage and vulnerability. I painted through the tears, letting my emotions move freely, and allowing the Wolf's strength to move through me.
“Be brave enough to try, knowing that you could fail. Be brave enough to love, even after all the pain.”
Since its creation, this piece has found its way into other hands and hearts.
Recently, I had the honour of sending two Wolf canvas prints to Scotland, both given as gifts of love. One travelled to the Highlands, and the other to the coast – each now offering strength and grounding to their new homes.
Then, something magical happened.
At Falkirk and District Spiritualist Church, my dear friend brought both Wolf prints to a local fundraiser. One was gifted to the wonderful Kathleen Ainslie, and the other was raffled – won by the equally lovely Allison Brownlee. To hear the stories of how these prints touched others was incredibly moving.
Even more serendipitously, one of the prints was later taken to the Eternal Light Spiritualist Centre fundraiser. As soon as my friend walked in, she knew why she had brought it. A spiritual connection unfolded, and the painting was gifted in the moment to Kathleen (Crystal Corner), whose grandmother stepped forward in Spirit. That gift was more than artwork – it was a message, a moment of clarity and love.
🐾The Wolf as a Spirit Animal
The Wolf invites us to:
Trust our inner knowing
Honour our intuition
Find strength in solitude and courage in community
Walk forward with clarity, even when the path feels uncertain
This Spirit Animal reminds us that even in our darkest times, we are guided by instinct and held by unseen support.
If you feel the Wolf calling to you, perhaps it's time to reconnect with your wild wisdom, stand in your truth, and move through whatever you're facing — not around it.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope this story brings you a sense of connection, strength, and hope — whether you're grieving, healing, or simply walking your path.
With love and a wild heart,
